MOCA Makers: Poke & Pattern -- Tattoo Workshop with Easy Peasy Tattoo

Visión general

Join us for a special workshop with Julie Frances of Easy Peasy Tattoo that bridges contemporary art and body-based mark-making. Taking inspiration from Philip Smith’s encaustic works—where symbols, icons, and layered surfaces evoke spiritual and personal narratives—participants will be introduced to the art of stick poke tattooing.

Using non-permanent tools and practicing on synthetic skin, this workshop explores the tattoo as a form of visual language and self-expression. Just as Smith embeds layers of memory and story into wax and pigment, participants will learn to build designs that carry meaning through repetition, symbol, and line.

No prior experience required; all materials will be provided.

Sharp tools involved, recommended 18+
